FRAMES

Frames is about the process and pursuit of changing our personal narratives and scripts we’ve created for our identities, relationships and experiences. We are never fixed and always changing and we have the power to frame our thoughts and experiences in which ever way we choose. The EP presents these concepts through imaginative sound worlds, driving bass lines, overwhelming kick drums, screaming synths and metallic percussion. It represents the struggle to understand and accept yourself. To bring this project to life I collaborated with other incredible artists and musicians including Courtney Swain, Parker Grogan, Jessica Kion, Caitlyn O’Brien, and Angel Marcloid.

Frames was made using Sensory Percussion by Sunhouse, Inc as the primary tool. Most of the sounds heard on the album were performed in real time using a sensor drum set I created. The intention for the album was to see what kind of compositions could be produced if I were to drum all the sounds and program conditions for unexpected results to occur.
